Does anyone make manual clutches for Briggs and Stratton engines?
What I am planning on doing is building a board track racer replica using a Briggs and Stratton engine. Now the one that I am replicating did not have a clutch, but I want to add one for safety and convenience. However, all I'm finding are centrifugal clutches. While that type of clutch is simple and cheap, it does not allow an engine to be pedal/hill started (which would be more appropriate for a BTR replica.) I can resort to using a pull start engine if necessary, but I would prefer a cable or rod operated clutch. By the way, this would have to fit a 5hp Briggs. I thought about using an 8hp, but parts are more common for the 5hp since a lot of people use them on go karts. And because of that I can also add more hp later if I decide that 5 won't cut it. Anyways, thanks in advance :)
