I have received a summons for paternity and related relief.My child lives with me....?

If you were convicted of violent crime, you're lucky you're not in prison. In custody cases the mother usually gets preference, but they have to draw the line somewhere. It sounds like the kid's father is no saint either, but if he has no felony convictions you'd need a darn good lawyer who's willing to work for free or whatever you can pay.
