How would Mary Cheney pose a risk to military unit cohesion?

I was pretty shocked when Cheney's daughter came out as part of an alternative lifestyle. I know and Lynne raised up their daughter to reflect their values and character. I agree with John McCain that s are incompatible with military service. But I'm having a hard time specifically defining how someone like Mary Cheney would weaken our military.
