Is blind-bashing a real occurrence?

I really hope that it isn't, but I'm sorry to say that prejudices against PW-D's is still very much an occurrence. I have had to fight against these a lot at school from both teachers and students. Although I've never had a physical skirmish with anyone I have had close calls. Once a student threatened me only to have another student stand up and ask "Are you picking on the cripple chick?". That settled that, but as you can see even the defending student used prejudice language. I would not be extremely surprised to here that this is happening, just very very dissapointed...
