Has anyone read the Iliad, the Odyssey, and the Aeneid?

Read them a long time ago. The Aeneid, by Virgil, was never really finished. Caesar Augustus kept after him to do so because in his thinking it was an important doent salutary to the state he was creating. The problem is that I see a contradiction. The myth about Romulus and Remus? They were supposedly raised by a she wolf and founded Rome. Aeneas is said to have founded Rome having escaped the Greeks. They're all general ways using empirical evidence and universal truths to give explanations as to who we are and why are we here. Of course, it didn't really take and have been in disuse for a couple of thousand years. Here: ' The Ulysses Voyage ' By Tim Severin Very interesting. Follows the actual courses of the voyages. Very good scholarship, lotsa great photograph and map back up too.
