Surfer questions! Pease help!...?

Ok so when young i use to be a lagit surfer.I could carve,rounhouse,cutback and more but then i stoped surfing for like a year cause my dad wouldnt take me and now i lost my mojo!!! I get white water now sometimes,cant carve as well,and am bad at getting the lip of the wave so can you tell me why this is happining and some good tips please!!! I feel like such a loser out there cause everyone else is owning me!
